Accidents

One thing that made us very nervous driving around today was that there was a huge amount of accidents. Unlike in the New York area where a traffic report talks about congestion on various road and mentions accidents as a cause of traffic tie-ups, here, at least on the station we were listening to, just gives a big long list of places where there are accidents. And everywhere we drove there were accidents were people had rear-ended each other, mostly at lights. The thing is that often it wasn't just two cars, it would be a chain-reaction thing with like ten cars. It seemed that the rain was the cause since they really don't get a lot of rain here. Either the roads were king of oily because it doesn't rain much here or people just aren't used to driving in the rain. I just don't think I've ever seen so many accidents on one day, even when I've driven around in the snow.
