Fuel Singer Drops the F-Bomb at Inagural Event
Fuel singer Bret Scallions made quite a big goof-up at an inagural event yesterday hosted by the President's daughters. In the midst of their set Scallions said "Welcome to the greatest fucking country in the world!" Luckily for him the President hadn't arrived yet but in attendance were thousands of kids and their parents as well as church groups. Scallions did immediately realize what he did wrong and apologize, which was a good move, but it was a pretty huge mistake to make in that particular setting. While I'm sure that the majority of people in the audience, including most of the kids, had heard the word before, it just wasn't the right venue to be cursing in.
The irony is that Kid Rock was initially supossed to perform at this event but was dropped because many felt that his lyrics were offensive and inappropriate. Well, I suspect given that Kid Rock would have toned down his act and performed songs appropriate for his audience and the event. Today Kid Rock probably laughted hysterically when he heard this story.
Other acts that performed at the event included Three Doors Down, Ryan Cabrera, Ruben Studdard and Hilary Duff, all of whom managed to perform without cursing.
