"O" - Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil

Wow! I can't possibly put into words how amazing this show is. It's not a circus but there are trapeze acts and clowns. It's not a ballet but there's all sorts of dancing. It's not a play but it was very theatrical and had a bit of a plot. Overall, it was just a spectacular show and one I'll remember for a very long time. Much of the show was based around a large pool of water, which appeared and disappeared as they needed it. Clearly, a great deal of time was spent developing this show very precisely.

There were three female contortionists who were particularly amazing to me. The way these women bent their bodies backwards and around themselves was so unnatural yet it came easily to them. Just incredible. All the acrobatic and trapeze type acts really were outstanding.

One thing that impressed Jim and I was how the performers had to be so multi-skilled. They needed to be dancers, acrobats, swimmers, divers and performers. Doing this show definitely takes a lot of talent and I really admire those who both performed in this show and created it.
