Ridiculous Waste of Money

Trump's Bride to Wear Ultra-Pricey Dior Gown

When Melissa Knauss marries Donald Trump soon she will be wearing a gown by Christian Dior that costs anywhere from $100,000-$200,000. The gown, which is one of the ugliest wedding dresses that I've ever seen, is made from almost 300 feet of material and featured embriodary and more than 1,500 crystal rhinestones. Apparently the dress took 550 hours just to do the embriodary. It's such a huge dress that instead of sitting in a chair, Strauss will have to sit on a bench. That is until, she changes into another dress, this one by Vera Wang, after the first dance with Trump. So she's going to spend the amount that some people spend on a down payment for a house on a dress that she's not even going to wear all night? Insanity. Of course to Trump and his future bride this is pocket change but it just seems incredibly wasteful to me. Especially since the dress is so ugly it's almost laughable.

Then there's this from the article:
"Knauss, 34, wasn't intimidated by the hunt for her wedding dress or the ceremony of haute couture. 'Most women when they encounter fashion — whether it's in a magazine or in the mall or watching the Golden Globes — they compare it to what they can wear. Melania isn't like that, probably because she was born beautiful,' said Singer."

What's that supossed to mean? That she's somehow better than everyone else because she wasn't intimidated by shopping for her wedding dress or because she was born beautiful? Being beautiful doesn't mean that someone is better than anyone else. Knauss may be able to wear just about anything but she's not the only one. I can also wear a lot of haute couture clothes because I'm also very thin, though not as tall, but why would I want to? I don't need to spend a fortune on my clothes to look good. What someone wears doesn't make them any better or worse than someone else. It's human nature of course that people are judged on appearances but those folks who put too much value on what's on the outside, instead of what's inside a person and who they really are, are missing out on a lot in life.
